About

I am Anthony Lambing and on August 8th, 2011 I began walking across America. I started in Charleston, South Carolina and am taking a southern route to San Diego, California. I will be posting pictures, text, and video from my iphone throughout my trip. I’m shooting to be finished in around 5 months but really am not sure. I would love to hear from you and am always looking for good places to camp or be hosted. Thank you so much for checking this out. :)

  8. Hey, Anthony,
I talked with you this morning at Trinity church in Ruston. I also read some of your writings about your voyage across America. You are a truly talented writer! You definitely have a talent for expressing yourself in writing. Keep up the walking and writing. May this be a “trip of a lifetime” for you! May God Bless and Keep you in the palm of His Hand (Isaiah 49:15-16)

  10. Hey man…saw u today In anson tx. Outside a little gas station (I have red hair…not too many of us around here so u might remember me). Saw ur sign on ur cart and decided to look ur site up. Just think it’s pretty cool what ur doing.

  11. Anthony, I was listening to public radio this morning. I think it was your mom who was talking about who would be absent at the Thanksgiving table this year. This is where I heard of your website and here I am attempting to get to know you. Luck to you and safe travel.

  12. Anthony – Heard your Mom talking about you and your adventure on NPR today. It hit home because you are doing EXACTLY what I’d like to do – walk across the country! You’re also planning to end your journey in San Diego, which is my Left Coast home (I’m bi-coastal – I work & am now based in Connecticut, but haven’t lost my connection with Cali, and get back whenever I can). I trust you’re getting a chance to meet & get to know the wonderful people of this great country! I’ve been lucky enough to travel the U.S. extensively through work, and also for pleasure, and I never get tired of it! The topographical variety of this great land is unrivaled in the world. Take lots of pictures, write about your experiences and the people you meet as often & extensively as you can, and savor EVERY SECOND of this amazing sojourn! Your grandchildren will enjoy sitting at your knee and hearing the stories about your quest to enjoy life at three miles an hour! Best of luck to you!

  14. Hi Anthony, my name is loren and I’m a senior at Seckman High School. I’m on the newspaper staff this year and we heard about what you were doing. It’s a great and wonderous thing that you are doing and i was wondering if it would be okay to do an article on you for our newspaper?????
I really hope that you’re doing well and everything is going great. Well keep up the good work and stay safe

  15. Saw you when I was driving through Ramona and thought to myself “that is a serious hiker”. A few hours later I saw you when I drove back to Poway (you are serious) and saw the sign on your back. Congratulations Anthony you are almost there!

  16. Great to see that you’re almost there! I was at my house in San Diego for 2 & 1/2 weeks over Xmas & New Years (I work in Connecticut), and I wish I were back there now to see the end of your journey! How much weight have you lost? Best of luck as you reach the end! :-)
